There, peeping above the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up and out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing; there was light and high beauty forever beyond its reach. J.R.R. Tolkien

Kid Quotes

In Cubbies last week, I listened as the teacher taught about creation. Suddenly, a Cubbie blurted out, "And God said, let there be TV."

Doing her usual great job, the teacher embraced the comment and told the Cubbies that God made something out of nothing. To which a Cubbie then added, "What if God made a TV out of a shoe?"

Love those kids.

And how about this one? I commented to Elijah that he needed a bath because he looked kind of greasy. His reaction? "At least the marker washes off quicker when you're greasy." At the time he said this, there wasn't any marker on him.
