There, peeping above the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up and out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing; there was light and high beauty forever beyond its reach. J.R.R. Tolkien

Today's List

Today so far, in list form:

1) All of us. Really tired. Late night. Brian was at a concert with youth and youth leaders. We had one of the youth leader's younger kids over until close to midnight. So thankful they were great kids.

2) Elijah was so tired, he acted sick all morning. He was pale and quiet. He is now finally moving and talking.

3) The car was towed to the mechanic. Again. Nuf said.

4) The cowlick in the back of my head continues to worsen. This thing is out of control. Considered an entire blog post dedicated to my cowlick. Decided on a book review instead. Will be purchasing more barrettes in an attempt to deal with the cowlick.

5) Leftover potato soup for lunch. Yum.

6) Homeschool going well. Kids aren't even bitter that public school kids are out of school for a teacher day.

7) Joseph has discovered a hidden passion for laundry and completed 3 loads of it already.

8) I read a link a friend posted on Facebook and it made me wonder for the millionth time why our culture has decided that college, traveling, and all the "fun" parts of life must be completed prior to marriage. Why not together, if you've already met the person you want to marry?

9) I was praying about some of our needs and realized with a smile that they are truly needs I cannot manufacture a way to meet. It's going to be all God, however it works out.
