I found gratitude running deep in me today. Here are some of the reasons:
The morning coffee/Bible/prayer on the deck was simply perfect. The One who loved me first let me come to him and He welcomed me.
Joseph joined me later with his Bible and read the passage in Luke about when John the Baptist doubted and Jesus met him with such wisdom and gentleness. Joseph ended up with tears in his eyes over that one, talking about some of his own doubts. As I sat there, praying for my son, I was so sure of the hand of God on his life.
Brian returned safely from a missions trip to Costa Rica.
Both boys were so anxious to see their dad they almost drove me completely insane this morning. They love this man who loves them so much.
Swamp Thing. (read prior post if this makes no sense)
Finally, how beautiful it was to consider that when Peter invites us to cast all our cares upon Jesus, he never says "cast all your legitimate cares." It's all the cares--the paranoid ones, the overreacting ones, the ones we should have been over 10 years ago, all of them. What grace.
Gratitude.

Thanks for the encouraging word, days like this one are such a gift. I am excited to hear Joseph reading the Word for himself and taking it to heart. The grace of God is so great!
