I love the sky. I am constantly drawn to it. I like to sleep with the blinds open so I can see the sky as I fall asleep and as I wake up. I go rushing outside at night to see the moon before I go to bed. I will sit and just stare up at the stars. I love sitting under a blazing blue sky and letting the sun just soak into me. I call the color of the sky "God's Blue". If anyone else attempts sky blue, it just looks garish and bad. Only God can pull off his blue and he totally surrounds us with it. Today, when I took a break to head outside with my journal and do some praying under a blazing blue sky, I started imagining what it must have been like when Moses was in God's presence.
"Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself." (Exodus 24:9-10)
When I read the descriptions that people in the Bible have written of seeing God, it takes my breath away. What they see can't even be fully described. But today, when I saw that sky, I wondered if God has given us just a shadowy glimpse of the glory we will see when we are with him. My insides get all trembly when I think of seeing God, but my heart just about leaps out of me at the anticipation.
