There, peeping above the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up and out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing; there was light and high beauty forever beyond its reach. J.R.R. Tolkien

Final Bill?

Today we received what I believe might be the final explanation of benefits for my heart attack. Originally, the bills we received showed my little adventure to have cost around $100,000. Looks like we were off....by about $77,000 plus meds and follow-up visits. Closer to $200,000. Wow. I started thinking about how this would have been without health insurance....then realized, even without health insurance, God still provides.

In case you are interested, the angioplasty was the single most expensive thing. Made my $18,000 CT scan look like a bargain.
