There, peeping above the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up and out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing; there was light and high beauty forever beyond its reach. J.R.R. Tolkien

He Has Ordained Praise....

...and He ordained it from the lips of my 4-year-old today. I was in the middle of a rather frantically busy day trying to be two moms at once. Both of my boys had different school programs schedule a field trip for the same day, same place, different time. Whew. Anyway, I was sitting there with Elijah as an Imax film rolled and showed pictures of the Northern Lights. It was breath-taking. I heard Elijah's little friend ask, "Who did that magic?" Elijah said, "God." His little voice carried all over the place in that theater and I just welled up, thinking that I got to be there when God's glory was displayed and He was glorified for it.
