There, peeping above the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up and out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing; there was light and high beauty forever beyond its reach. J.R.R. Tolkien

LIFE

Pink blushing across the morning sky,

Fragrant, hot coffee filling me with warmth,

The King of all creation greeting me with new mercy,

Stillness broken only by the birdsongs,

My heart pumping along with my feet on the treadmill,

Pikes Peak gleaming against a deep blue sky,

Castle Rock silhoutted in the morning light,

Chilly air filling my lungs,

Three people I love all greeting me....

And to think--this is all but a shadow of real LIFE to come.

Thank you, Abba, for showing your goodness in the land of the living today and reminding me of hope and renewed life to come. This morning was a love letter you wrote just for me.
