There, peeping above the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up and out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing; there was light and high beauty forever beyond its reach. J.R.R. Tolkien

Potty Training!!!

Think what you want. (Everyone else did....) Elijah is finally potty-trained. Whew. After over a year of reading every book on the market, trying every method, crying in frustration, praying, listening to every unsolicited opinion on how to potty train, it's finally done. That's the good news. The bad news? I didn't potty train him. He trained himself. I would be happy to share any potty training advice I've read and heard over the past 18 months, but none of it worked. Oh well. It's done!

Annoyingly, my doctor was right. She said he would do it when he was ready and not to worry.

Here's his summation of the matter: "Mommy, I'm wearing underwear because I want to."
