I have had a 72 hour stretch that I would never like to repeat. Honestly, I don't think it's over, but this is the first time I haven't been crying or journaling or in the middle of some crisis. This stretch is reminding me again that I am not sufficient for this life. I lack the wisdom, the strength, the ability to forgive, the perseverence--all of it. Truly, I can do nothing apart from Christ. He is my wisdom and strength. He is the one who can work forgiveness and perseverence in me. He knows my fears, my pain, the impossible situations. He knows every single thing that is going on right now. He knows. And, yes, he knows well the question that rises up in me at times like these: "Why is church ministry so hard?"
I am turning to him, asking for more than I can ask or imagine. Healing. Forgiveness. Self-Control. Protection. Wisdom. Humility.
He is with me. Always. My Rock. My Refuge. My Hiding Place.
