This morning we played the alphabet game at breakfast. It's the one where you say something like, "I went to Disneyland and took my ape." Then the next person says your word and a word that starts with B....and on it goes all the way to Z. It's a great memory game. After that, we took turns telling the story of our trip using the words. The first person starts by coming up with a sentence that uses the A word, then the next person adds a sentence that uses the B word, and so on. It was pretty funny, really. Things were loud!
Due to my opening sentence saying I was bringing my aunt, my Aunt Sue became the star of our trip. It turns out that my AUNT Sue came with us to Disneyland and she is a BURGLAR. A few words later, to our dismay, we found she had packed an EEL and had FLEAS in her hair. The last straw was when she sneaked into Disneyland with her GLOCK and the government had to send a HELICOPTER to take the Glock away. We did have a wonderful celebration with her after that involving ICEES, KANGA-CAKE, and LOUD LLAMA ice cream. Sadly, a few words later, MOM developed an allergy to everything she had eaten and found herself under a QUILT reading the book of REVELATION with a SNAKE that Elijah had packed. (This was shortly after Dad had to give the government a large PAYMENT for their helicopter trip.) And wouldn't you know? The snake turned out to be a VIPER. What a trip to Disneyland.
Try it sometime. (Not the actual trip I described, which sounds downright awful--just the game.) I think it's fun with any age. And here's a disturbing thought....do you think anyone is making up wild stories about you today? :)
