There, peeping above the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for awhile. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up and out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing; there was light and high beauty forever beyond its reach. J.R.R. Tolkien

On the 16th Day....

15 days of diarrhea. I realize that is not something often talked about in polite company, but that's a long stretch. Our entire family has developed a vested interest in seeing Elijah restored to health. Every time he goes into the bathroom, we all wait for the report. Tonight, I went in to check on him as I have often needed to do the last couple of weeks. As I sat down on the edge of the tub, he said, "Mom! Don't just sit there! It was normal! Go tell the others!"

So I did.

(Did I mention he said it all with the funny little lisp he has developed ever since having two front teeth pulled?)
